| The Thor firing system utilises burners which fire vertically upwards from the base up both side walls. Heat is therefore projected directly upwards to where it is needed without the use of deflection devices. This is more efficient and much aids more even temperature distribution.
Thor kilns are solidly built of HT1 & 26 grade brick with high quality back up insulation to give 6" (150mm) thick walls mounted in a very strong angle iron and steel cabinet.
They have an arched roof and three spyholes in the door. Adjustable batts over the base flue direct combustion gases into the rear vertical flue which is fitted with a slide damper.
All kilns have four naturally aspirating burners each fitted with flame failure devices. Flame viewing-cooling ports are fitted in both side walls. At extra cost, solenoid valves and automatic temperature controllers can be fitted.
